Introduction to this year in LA
Throughout the year we will study and implement reading strategies as we read a variety of genres within a reading workshop format. The novels and short stories will be chosen to foster interest and love of reading was well as academically challenge your child. The 7th grade curriculum also focuses on narrative writing. We will practice newly acquired skills through a variety of writing venues. Persuasive and expository writing will also be explored, as well as vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and descriptive writing. Writers workshop will show students the importance of the writing process and the value of editing and revision.
